Skin Treatments Are Effective For:

  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Aging/Sun-Damaged Skin
  • Loose Skin and Skin Laxity
  • Discoloration and Pigment Issues
  • Broken Capillaries
  • Acne and Acne Scars
  • Redness, Flushing, and Rosacea

Understanding the complexity of the aging process will allow you to better understand the reason why a combination of integrated treatments are usually required for best results. Keep in mind that results will always vary from patient to patient.

In your 30’s …

collagen and elastin production is beginning to slow. Fine wrinkling and mild pigmentary changes appear. Makeup is usually not necessary. Microdermabrasion, chemical peels along with derma fillers and Botox can dramatically improve appearance at this age. Programs may be necessary for acne or oily skin and those with premature aging could benefit from a mesorejuvenation facial.

In your 40’s …

hormones begin to fluctuate effecting pigmentation, elasticity, and thickness of the skin. Wrinkling increases from photo-aging, motion and loss of volume. Small capillaries may be evident, making the skin look blotchy and rashy. Sun or age spots appear, giving the skin a patchy, uneven color. As skin thickness and elasticity decreases, skin feels and looks rough, irregular, and dry. Premalignant spots may start to appear. A variety of resurfacing agents, such as medical grade peels to ablative and non-ablative laser treatments, will make a large difference in appearance. Derma fillers and Botox bring back youthful contours. Mesorejuventation will stimulate the regenerate skin cells. A regular preventive/corrective regimen every 3-4 months is usually necessary to maintain one’s best skin health and appearance.

In your 50’s, 60’s …

And beyond, you will encounter all of the problems mentioned earlier along with significantly more drooping due to an overall loss of volume in the supporting structures that makes the skin redrape and create deep creases. The skin gets very uneven with extreme variation from very thick to very thin areas. Wrinkles and sagging develop throughout, along with redness and dryness. The color changes to yellow or gray and skin malignancies appear frequently. Makeup cannot be worn because it cakes and cracks. Along with treatments mentioned for the younger age groups, more intensive intervention is usually required such as micro laser peel or fractional laser resurfacing, along with lipostructure or liquid nonsurgical face-lift. Thermalift will improve skin tightness and contouring. Thermafractional is the newest integrated technology that achieves 3-dimensional skin tightening and resurfacing. Mesotherapy is used for dissolving baggy, puffy eyelid fat, jowls and redefining neck/chin definition.

Conditions

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Treatments Offered at Advanced Aesthetics M.D. Med Spa for fine lines and wrinkles are:

Volume loss or deflation affects all of us, as part of the aging process. The skin is an envelope that is left with a gradually shrinking support base as the fat muscle and bone decrease in volume with age. Think of a grape as it turns into a raisin.

Aging and Sun Damaged Skin

Treatments Offered at Advanced Aesthetics M.D. Med Spa for Aging and Sun Damaged skin are:

Intrinsic aging naturally occurs regardless of outside influences. After we hit our 20’s, our collagen production steadily decreases, and overtime, the skin structure becomes thinner and weakened. We also gradually produce less and less oil and elastin, which also attributes to aging skin and wrinkles, but only mildly.
Sun damage symptoms can appear as freckles, wrinkles, dark spots, and skin cancer – all on the same person. A sun burn can occur in as little as 15 minutes in the immediate sun, but sun damage is cumulative and may take years, or even decades, to appear in the form of visible symptoms. It is important to understand that sun damage may not be visible on your skin until many years after the initial damage occurred.
While there are many treatments available to reduce wrinkles, such as injectables, fillers, and chemical peels, prevention is the key to minimizing effects of premature aging. Dr. Carmen Laronn and her staff at Advanced Aesthetics M.D. Med Spa can help you correct and prevent aging and sun damaged skin. A comprehensive consultation with the Doctor can help you decide what treatments is right for you

They most commonly appear on the face, backs of hands, upper chest, and shoulders, and are typically caused by years of sun exposure. Broken Capillaries, Redness, Flushing, and Rosacea

Treatments Offered at Advanced Aesthetics M.D. Med Spa for broken capillaries and rosacea are:

Facial redness can be a momentary blushing or flushing on the skin or in certain cases it may last for days, weeks, or months at a time. The primary cause of all types of skin redness is hyper-reactivity of the skin’s vessels; this is when the skin’s vessels dilate quickly, causing a flush of redness to appear on the surface. Additionally, when skin becomes irritated, the skin tissue may become inflamed, which causes redness.

A variety of underlying conditions can provoke or worsen skin redness. External factors, such as UV rays, pollution, and harsh climates may all contribute to facial redness. Several other conditions that cause redness are rosacea, acne, eczema, and dry skin, inflammatory conditions, such as sunburn and vasculitis, stress, genetics, and aging, and allergic or adverse reaction to foods, alcohol, insect bites, and chemicals in skin products.

For skin that has issues with redness, flushing, and rosacea, our Advanced Aesthetics M.D. Med Spa team offers the latest treatment options

Acne and Acne Scars

Treatments Offered at Advanced Aesthetics M.D. Med Spa for Acne and Acne Scars are:

There are several types of acne, the most common being acne vulgaris, that show up on the face, back, chest, shoulders, and neck. There are hundreds of tiny glands in the pores of your skin called sebaceous glands (or oil glands) that lubricate skin and hair by producing and excreting an oily substance called sebum. This natural exfoliation process is designed to keep skin healthy, but factors such as hormones, environment, stress, and improper diet cause an over production of sebum and prevent the skin from exfoliating itself correctly. As a result, the pathways for the sebum to escape get clogged and bacteria get trapped inside the pores, resulting in acne. 30% of individuals affected by moderate to severe acne experience acne scars; however, it is more prominent in severe cases where there are blemishes with large nodules and inflammation from cystic acne. Fortunately, at Advanced Aesthetics M.D. Med Spa, there are now several methods that can be used for improving the look and feel of both acne and acne scars. Let Dr. Sameerah Wong help you in choosing the right treatment for your particular case.
