Build Collagen with Sculptra Liquid Facelift

What is Sculptra used for?

Sculptra is used to correct a tired, aging face by correcting sunken areas, lines and wrinkles. Aging is more than skin deep. Starting in our 4th decade, our bodies begin losing collagen, bone, and the fat in the face is redistributed. These changes result in a tired, aged appearance due to contour and volume changes, and loss of balance and symmetry found in a youthful face. Sculptra is used to improve facial aging by helping to restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin. Sculptra is used to treat nasolabial folds (or “smile lines”) and overall facial volume loss. Results appear gradually over the treatment regime which is typically 2-4 months.

What is Sculptra?

Sculptra Aesthetic is an FDA-approved injectable that helps your body replace the lost collagen — the results that can last up to 5 years. As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra Aesthetic is different; lactic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body. It works with your body within the deep layers of skin and under the skin, to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.

How long does it last?

On average, two to three injection appointments are needed over a period of a few months. The number of appointments and injections per appointment vary from person to person, depending on how much collagen has been lost. As a general rule of thumb, the typical patient needs a vial of Sculptra for each decade of their life (ie; a 30 year old patient may need 3 vials, a 40 year old patient may need 4, etc). Dr. Laronn will customize a treatment plan to meet each patient’s specific needs. Results will appear gradually over 2-4 months and can last up to 5 years, significantly longer than hyaluronic acid fillers. Sculptra is a long term, natural treatment for volume loss and contour improvement.

What to expect during treatment?

About 30 minutes prior to your treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied. The product also contains lidocaine so there is a combination of external and internal numbing that make the procedure comfortable! Swelling and bruising may occur at the injection side but this does not typically interfere with daily activities. Dr. Laronn will provide you with specific post care instructions so you can get the most out of your Sculptra treatment.
